What to expect?

Our Care Navigators are the heart of The Kids Hub – your first point of contact.

They provide essential guidance and support by identifying how The Kids Hub can best support you – ensuring your journey is smooth and tailored to your needs; and connecting you to a range of local support programs and services within your community.

Your Kids Hub journey

When you come to the Kids Hub, you’re connecting with a whole team who work together to understand what will best support your child and family, rather than referring to individual services like psychology or occupational therapy on their own. For some families this may include brief support, group programs or guidance, while for others we may recommend connecting with services outside of Kids Hub if they are a better fit, and can support you to do this/make this referral.

Assessment

Welcome, assessment & family journey map

Families can connect with The Kids Hub via phone, online, or by walking in, where a Care Navigator will provide a warm welcome, assess their needs, and create a personalised support plan.

Support

Support by on-site health professionals

Our Care Navigators work closely with our full Allied Health team to explore the best ways to support each child and family, rather than referring to a single service. This may include connecting with on-site therapists and mental health professionals, offering practical resources and emotional guidance, or engaging in groups and workshops.

Referral

Connecting to the right      support

In some cases, Kids Hub may not be the most suitable service for your child’s needs. If that happens, we will support you to connect with services outside of Kids Hub that are better matched, and help make that process as easy as possible.

Plan & review

Ongoing check-ins and planning next steps

If your child is receiving support through the Kids Hub, we’ll regularly check in to make sure it’s helpful and adjust the plan if needed. When you’re ready, we’ll work with you to plan next steps so your family feels supported moving forward.

Our approach ensures that both your child and family receive the comprehensive care they need for long-term well-being.

The Kids Hub offers safe, inclusive play spaces where children of all abilities can explore, connect, and grow. Designed for accessibility, it encourages creativity and sensory engagement in a fun, welcoming environment.

Creche

The Kids Hub creche provides a safe, nurturing space for children to play and learn while parents connect with our team. It is not always open, and bookings are required to secure your spot.

Playground and Yarning Circle

We also have an on-site outdoor sensory playground and yarning circle. This is a special space to play, talk and yarn about any ups and downs you may be facing. We welcome all people and have provided a fully accessible and inclusive space – regardless of ability or identity.

Please be advised that we are not a crisis mental health service. If this is an emergency or someone else needs immediate attention:

If you have concerns about your child’s behaviour, development, mental health, and well-being, we have professionals who can support you with this.
